Our History

History of Vision Lampasas

The Lampasas Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) began downtown task force called Vision Downtown Lampasas in 2007.  Early supporters and developers were: Jim Rutland, local businessman, Danielle Smith, Main Street manager, and Julie Johncox Consulting.  Others eager to make the new organization successful and carry out projects beneficial to Lampasas were local bankers, artists, realtors, city staff, local politicians, and hundreds of community-minded volunteers.

In 2012 the organization was renamed Vision Lampasas and the mission statement slightly reworked to: “Vision Lampasas is dedicated to enhancing the aesthetic, social, cultural, and economic welfare of Lampasas” to better reflect an expanded focus on the entire city.

Our motto remains: “Remembering the Past with Vision for the Future”.
