The Stars At Night

The whole family is invited to a night of stargazing and fun with the experts! This starry event is put on by our own Friends Of The Night Sky! Activities include children's activities, information tables, night sky demos, panel discussions, food vendors, and the big event: stargazing with professional telescopes. No admission fee. Rain or Shine.. The Nature Night Hike, children's activities, exhibitors booths, and more will happen. Next date to learn about the wonders of our dark skies will be announced soon! Stay tuned!

About Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky
Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky is a volunteer group dedicated to helping
​the communities in Lampasas County to reduce light pollution and preserve our Big and Bright Stars
here in the Heart of Texas for future Generations.

Volunteers meet every first Wednesday of the month at 10:30-11:45
in the Chamber of Commerce conference room. Please join us!

Both Lampasas County and the City of Lampasas have passed resolutions to encourage practices and support efforts to preserve our night skies. Highlights

• We are a sub committee of Vision Lampasas
• We work closely with Hill Country Alliance and their work protecting the night skies of the Hill Country
• Here is a helpful issue paper developed by HCA on our Night Skies
• The International Dark Sky organization has much helpful information.
